This week I’m combining Self-Care Sunday and Monday Motivation with a 7 Day Self-Care Challenge. I insist that you all take the time this week to do the things on this list. You don’t have to necessarily do them in order. Mix it up according to what works for your schedule. I guarantee you’ll end the week refreshed after accomplishing these tasks.
1. Create and Say Daily Affirmations
I use the same affirmation when I get to feeling frustrated. It helps empower my thinking and get back on track. Think of something that you want to work on and use affirmations to switch your mind into believing that have you have all you need to make it possible because you do!
Mine is “I am confident and secure. I am strong-willed, determined, and capable of accomplishing my dreams.”
2. Declutter Your Space
Maybe you’ve been meaning to clean out your closet. Maybe your purse is a mess. Maybe your desk is full of junk you don’t need. Take time out to get rid of some stuff that’s clouding your space.
3. Get 8+ Hours of Sleep
I rarely get 8 hours of sleep but when I do, I always feel great afterward. Try going to bed earlier than usual and wake up earlier to get a good start on the day.
4. At Home Spa Day
This is my favorite kind of self-care. Take a long, scented bubble bath. Refresh your face with a clarifying mask like this one. Try out a body scrub like the one I posted last Sunday. The possibilities are endless, but the goal is to relax and renew.
5. Set Goals for Yourself
Take some time out of your day to seriously think about what you’d like to accomplish this year, this month, or even this week. Write those goals down and then figure out what tasks you’d need to complete in order to get it done. The best self-care is being mindful about where you are going.
6. Go a Whole Day without Complaints
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Just don’t complain. Replace those complaints with gratitude!
7. Learn/Try Something New
What is something that you’d always wanted to know how to do? Is there some activity that you always wanted to try. Do the research. Schedule the activity. Find a tutorial. Just get started.
Here’s a free graphic with the tasks for each day. Save it to your phone or as your desktop screensaver to remind you about your self-care challenge. What are some other things you all like to do for self-care? Let me know!
